Babysitting a Baby Cheetah
Before completing my undergraduate degree, I was incredibly blessed to have the chance to study abroad in South Africa (Limpopo province). Africa is an amazing place that has always taken up residence in my heart. Getting the chance to study and work there was truly unbelievable. The people, the cultures, the scenery, and opportunities to help, and of course the wildlife – truly incredible.
During my time there, I lived and worked at a large mammal sanctuary and rehabilitation center. This was just one of the many amazing animals I got to work with. A 6-week-old Cheetah, whose mother had been killed by a poacher. Having to care for this little guy sure didn’t feel like work. Thank God for the people and places that help care for God’s creatures.
I Made A Funny
Apparently, Griffin thought I said something hilarious.
A Tiny Visitor
I started my career as an animal biologist. I saw and worked with many animal babies during those years. They are all cute. Even the ugly ones are somehow cute when they are so tiny and new. But come on, baby bunnies have to be one of the absolute cutest baby animals on the globe. Look at this little guy I found in my yard this morning. He was small enough to fit in my hand. Don’t worry, I took the picture and left him alone. I have seen Baby Bunny and his/her siblings running around the yard, so I know the nest is close by.
